Conductometric investigation of cation bonding properties of some carbazole schiff bases

Abstract

In this work, the effect of (Z)
-9-butyl-N-(2,3,4-trimethoxybenzylidine)-9H-carbazole-3-amine
(Schiff-carbazole-anisole, SKA) and
(Z)-3-((9-octyl-9H-carbazol-3-ylimino) methyl)benzene-1,2-diol
(Schiff-carbazole-phenol, SKF) Carbazole
schif base ligands with CaCl2, MgCl2, FeSO4,
ZnSO4 metal ions conductivity behaviors were measured to determine
the complexing properties at 25oC in a 50% ethanol / water mixture.
The Complexation Constant (Ke) and Free Enthalpy (ΔGθ) of the
ligand-cation complex were calculated using the conductivity parameters (K, Λ
and α). Althought, it was found that the complexation constant was decreased in
the direction of Fe2+ > Mg2+ > Ag+ >
Ca2+ > Zn2+ for the SKA compound, it was detected that
Zn2+ > Fe2+ > Ag+ > Mg2+
> Ca2+ for the SKF compound as a result of the conductometric
studies. According to the results of this study, ligands can be used in metal
sensor, enzyme inhibitor and biological applications.

Bazı karbazol schiff bazlarının katyon bağlama özelliklerinin kondüktometrik incelenmesi

Abstract

Bu çalışmada  (Z)-9-butyl-
N-(2,3,4-trimethoxybenzylidine)-9H-carbazol-3-amine (Schiff-Karbazol-Anisol, SKA) ve (Z)-3-((9-octyl-9H-carbazol-3-ylimino)methyl) benzene-1,2-diol  (Schiff-Karbazol-Fenol, SKF) orijinal
karbazol schiff bazlar ile insan vücudu için büyük önem arz eden AgNO3,
CaCl2, MgCl2, FeSO4, ZnSO4 metal iyonları
arasında % 50 etanol/su ikili karışımında 25oC’de kompleksleşme
özelliklerinin belirlenmesi amacıyla iletkenlik davranışları ölçüldü.
İletkenlik parametreleri (K, Λ ve α) kullanılarak ligand-katyon kompleksinin
kompleksleşme sabiti (Ke ) ve Serbest Entalpi
(ΔGθ
)
hesaplandı. Kondüktometrik olarak yapılan çalışmalar sonucunda SKA bileşiği için kompleksleşme sabiti
Fe2+> Mg2+> Ag+> Ca2+>
Zn2+ yönünde azalırken, SKF
bileşiği için Zn2+ > Fe2+ > Ag+ > Mg2+
> Ca2+ yönünde değiştiği tespit edilmiştir. Bu çalışma
sonuçlarına göre ligandlar metal sensörü, enzim inhibitörü ve biyolojik
uygulamalarda kullanılabilirler.
