Abstract
How does the situation of the poor change during periods of economic recession triggered by financial crises? Although the effects of financial crises on the poor of the society have been relatively less studied, empirical evidence based on both macro and micro level data shows that financial crises are associated with an increase in poverty and, in some cases, income inequality.
In general, it can be said that developing and transition economies are sensitive to financial crises, including balance of payments and banking crises. In this context, the study examines whether and to what extent financial crises affect the poverty rate in high-income developing countries by using multivariate panel data analysis method.

Abstract
Finansal krizlerin tetiklediği ekonomik gerileme dönemlerinde yoksulların durumlarında nasıl bir değişme olmaktadır? Finansal krizlerin toplumun yoksul kesimi üzerindeki etkileri nispeten daha az araştırılmış olmakla birlikte, gerek makro gerekse mikro düzeydeki verilere dayanan ampirik kanıtlar, finansal krizlerin yoksulluktaki artış ve bazı durumlarda gelir eşitsizliği ile ilişkili olduğunu göstermektedir.
Genel olarak gelişmekte olan ve geçiş ekonomileri, ödemeler dengesi ve bankacılık krizleri dahil olmak üzere finansal krizlere eğilimli oldukları söylenebilir. Bu kapsamda çalışmada, gelişmekte olan üst gelir grubundaki ülkelerde finansal krizlerin yoksulluk oranını etkileyip etkilemediğini ve ne ölçüde etkilediği çok değişkenli panel veri analizi yöntemiyle incelenmektedir.
