ELDERLY PEOPLE and ACTIVE AGING in THE LABOUR MARKET; ASSESSMENT of EUROPA UNION and TURKEY

Abstract

Over the next 60 years, it is expected that the aging of the world population will continue and that aging will continue to bring significant influences on socioeconomic development and wealth. In this study, demographic change process in EU and Turkey, macroeconomic results of aging and the current situation of the elderly in the labor market are presented. It is also aimed to convey information about the basic dynamics of active aging and action plans related to it. As a result of the study, it was determined that the rate of participation and employment of the elderly in the labor market was improved but it was not enough. And also, it has been seen that action plans for active aging have been implemented both in the EU and in Turkey.

İŞGÜCÜ PİYASASINDA YAŞLILAR VE AKTİF YAŞLANMA: AVRUPA BİRLİĞİ VE TÜRKİYE DEĞERLENDİRMESİ

Abstract

Gelecek 60 yıl boyunca dünya nüfusundaki yaşlanmanın sürmesi ve yaşlanmanın sosyo-ekonomik kalkınmada ve refah düzeyinde önemli etkileri beraberinde getirmeye devam etmesi beklenmektedir. Bu çalışmada AB ve Türkiye’deki demografik değişim süreci, yaşlanmanın makro ekonomik sonuçları ve yaşlıların işgücü piyasasındaki mevcut durumu ortaya konulmaktadır. Ayrıca, aktif yaşlanma ve buna yönelik eylem planlarında yer alan temel dinamikler hakkında bilgi aktarımı amaçlanmaktadır. Yapılan çalışma sonucunda işgücü piyasasında yaşlıların işgücüne katılma ve istihdam oranında iyileşmeler görüldüğü, ancak bunların yeterli olmadığı belirlenmiştir. Bunun yanısıra, hem AB’de hem de Türkiye’de aktif yaşlanma konusunda eylem planlarının uygulamaya konulduğu görülmüştür
