İnovasyon ve Güven Esaslı Sosyal Sermayenin Ekonomik Büyüme Üzerindeki Olası Etkileri: 43 Ülkeden Panel Veri Analizi

Year 2022, Volume: 7 Issue: 2, 296 - 307, 30.12.2022

Abstract

Possible Effects of Innovation and Trust-Based Social Capital on Economic Growth: Panel Data Analysis from 43 Countries

Year 2022, Volume: 7 Issue: 2, 296 - 307, 30.12.2022

Abstract

Social capital, defined as the norms and social relations embedded in the social structure that enable people to coordinate actions to achieve common goals, is measured by the level of trust that countries have. Possible effects of social capital are participation, knowledge transfer, risk reduction and innovation. Significant increases in the knowledge-intensive side of economic growth have increased the interest in knowledge creation and knowledge transfer, leading to a focus on innovation, which is the most important aspect of knowledge creation. Innovation depends on collaborative learning, idea generation and idea realization practices, and is also an important mechanism that transforms social capital into economic growth. In the study, which provides evidence from 43 countries in the 2017-2020 period, it is stated that innovation and social capital are determinants on economic growth, and that this determinant is more effective in societies with high levels of trust; In countries with low confidence levels, it has been concluded that it has a reducing effect on effectiveness.
