Although polypropylene (PP) possesses good mechanical and chemical properties and atmospheric resistance, its use has been restricted in various applications owing to its low surface energy. The interest in plasma activation of PP surfaces has increased in the automotive industry for the recent years, since it can improve the wettability. In this study, the effects of different scanning velocites on PP surface by the atmospheric plasma surface activation treatment are studied and surface energycan be increased from 28mN/m to 72mN/m. These results are very important for painting and adhesion properties.
