The Effect of Individuals' Perceptions of Responsive Love on Organ Donation Attitude

Abstract

In this study, it was aimed to determine whether individuals' perceptions of sensitive love have an effect on their attitude towards organ donation. The population of the study consists of individuals over the age of 18 residing in Amasya Province and the sample consists of 610 individuals. Pearson correlation and regression analysis, one-way ANOVA and independent t test were used to analyze the data. As a result of the analysis of the research, it was determined that the participants' organ donation attitude levels were above average (3,56  0,370) and their sensitive love attitude levels were above average (5,18  0,942). Statistically significant results were found between the organ donation attitude levels of the participants and whether they had an organ donation card, whether they were planning to donate organs in the near future and whether they knew the necessary conditions for organ donation. Statistically significant results were found between the level of compassionate love and the participants' gender and the status of considering organ donation in the near future. It was revealed that there was a positive and significant (r = 0.377; p<0.05) relationship between organ donation and sensitive love. These results show that as individuals' sensitive love attitudes increase, their organ donation attitudes or tendencies also increase. Therefore, it is recommended that the factors affecting tender love should be taken into consideration in the development of organ donation attitudes of individuals and information, training and planning should be carried out in this direction.
