Different Interpretations in Qur'anic Exegesis: The Example of Muhsin Demirci

The Quran, from its revelation to the present day, is the final divine scripture that people have made efforts to understand and interpret, and many works have been written on this subject. As a result of these studies, a considerable corpus has been formed. When evaluated objectively, this corpus will provide correct results in understanding and interpreting the Quran. Each period reflects its own conditions and characteristics. The needs, problems, perceptions, and language of the era take on a unique form. This situation necessitates a re-reading of the narrations in light of current conditions and developments. In this study, the work “Kur’ân Tefsirinde Farklı Yorumlar/ Tespitler-Değerlendirmeler” by Muhsin Demirci will be examined. The book evaluates the disputed verses and aims to highlight the author’s contemporary interpretation style and contributions to the science of commentary.

Kur’ân-ı Kerîm, indirilmesinden günümüze dek, insanların anlama ve yorumlama gayreti içinde olduğu ve bu konuda pek çok eser kaleme aldığı son ilâhî Kitaptır. Bu çalışmalar sonucu azımsanmayacak bir külliyât oluşmuştur. Bu külliyât, objektif bir şekilde değerlendirildiğinde, Kur’ân’ın anlaşılması ve yorumlanması daha sağlıklı sonuçlar verecektir. Her dönem kendi şartları ve özelliklerini yansıtır. Döneme ait ihtiyaçlar, sorunlar, algılar, dil kendine has bir forma bürünmüştür. Bu durum, nasların güncel şartlar ve gelişmeler ekseninde yeniden okunmasını gerekli kılar. Bu çalışmada Muhsin Demirci’ye ait “Kur’ân Tefsirinde Farklı Yorumlar/ Tespitler-Değerlendirmeler” adlı eseri incelenecektir. Yorumları hakkında ihtilaf edilen âyetlerin değerlendirildiği eserde, müellifin âyetleri güncel yorumlama tarzı ve tefsir ilmine katkıları ortaya konmaya çalışılacaktır.
